RYA Marine Radio SRC Course

A course and exam for anyone who owns a fixed or handheld marine VHF radio. A radio is an important piece of safety equipment on board and it is vital to understand the correct procedures.
The Short Range Certificate is the minimum qualification required by law to control the operation of VHF and VHF Digital Selective Calling (DSC) equipment on any British flagged vessel voluntarily fitted with a radio either fixed or handheld.
The course takes 8 hours, including the exam and must be attended in full.
IMPORTANT
In addition to the fee for attending the course, you need to pay an exam fee of £76 directly to the RYA. Click here to find out about the SRC exams and how to pay. It is your responsibility to pay the RYA exam fee before attending the course you will not be able to take the exam if you have not paid the fee.
Payment & refunds
You must pay for the course when you book. If you wish to cancel your course, TSC will only refund your payment if your space is taken up and paid for by another member.
Waiting list
If you sign up on the waiting list, we will contact you if a space comes available.
Minimum participants
We need a minimum of 9 people to take part in order to cover the costs. In the unlikely event that we don't have enough people by the end of November we will cancel the course and refund the fees.
Non-members
If after the 1st November we have spare spaces, these will be offered to non-Members.
