Sail Training 2025

Published 18:07 on 19 Feb 2025
We have an exciting, enhanced sail training programme lined up for you this year. As well as our usual RYA course for beginners, there is a programme of instructor led sessions to help all comers improve their sailing and innovative new series in the racing calendar, details to be announced soon!
RYA Level 1 & 2
We are running an RYA Level 1 & 2 course in March / April. The bulk of the course will be run out of All-Aboard Watersports in Bristol harbour, sandwiched between sessions at the club.

If you, or someone you know, are interested, you can sign up now, or get in touch through the contact us if you have any questions. There's an early bird discount, so don't delay!
Better Sailing improver sessions
We have re-vamped the Challenge: Development sessions this year into our new Better Sailing programme. Building on the lessons learned in recent years, we will be running 9 instructor led sessions over the spring and summer. These sessions will cater for all levels: there will be a plenty of instruction and support for new sailors, allowing them to develop skills and confidence on the water at TSC; and we will look at more advanced skills and techniques for those more experienced sailors who are keen to improve.

Mentors needed that's you!
The Better Sailing sessions are about more than teaching people to sail, they are about instilling an ethos in the club around mutual help and support to enable everyone to have a better time on the water. The session will be led by instructors, but we are hoping that mentors will play a key role in making them a success.
Who are mentors? You are, if you want to be!
We don't just need experienced sailors who can help with the sailing (we need them too, of course!), we need members who can help out on and off the water. Whether that's rigging boats, pointing people in the right direction, crewing or helming for those wanting to get out on the water, or being a friendly face offering support and encouragement. If you'd like to be involved, please get in touch through contact us to let me know.
The sail training team and I are looking forward to seeing you down at the club very soon.
